NEW - April 28, 2009 - 3:00 p.m. (Eastern)
In light of the recent outbreak of illnesses related to swine influenza and the steps taken by health and government authorities in Mexico, the United States and around the world to minimize the spread of the virus, the Texas-Mexico Frozen Food Council has cancelled the 2009 Frozen Food Fiesta scheduled to be held May 7-9, 2009, in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.
Fiesta registrants will be issued a full refund of their registration fees, including fees paid for spouse registrations, the golf tournament and event sponsorship. Refunds will be issued beginning this week.
The CasaMagna Marriott will cancel all room reservations made in the Fiesta room block. Reservations made outside of the Fiesta room block, however, must be cancelled individually. The Texas-Mexico Frozen Food Council is not responsible for canceling room reservations made at the CasaMagna Marriott outside of the Fiesta room block or at other area hotels.
If you require room cancellation confirmation, please contact the Marriott directly at 52-322-226-0000.
The Texas-Mexico Frozen Food Council board of directors will meet in the coming days to discuss alternate plans for the Fiesta. Details will be forthcoming. In the meantime, please do not hesitate to contact TMFFC Executive Director Elise Cortina at firstname.lastname@example.org or (703) 821-0770 if you have additional questions.
