Frozen Food Industry Research

The Texas-Mexico Frozen Food Council is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the advancement of the frozen food industry within the U.S., Mexico and Canada.  The Frozen Food Fiesta, the Council’s main source of revenue, has made possible substantial grants to advance quality food production.
In 2003 and 2004, the Council funded research related to broccoli crop damage. Diseases affecting broccoli, including those related to fungi and bacteria, can devastate crops. This, in turn, inflicts harm on all who depend on these crops. Research designed to better understand, and thus prevent, crop damage can safeguard the livelihoods of farmers and their families, as well as of those involved in businesses “from farm to fork.”  This research can also benefit entire nations and regions, whose economies depend on healthy crops.
